Colchester - Englands Capital City: Essex is home to Great Britain's first capital city - Colchester. Englands Capital City of Colchester was established by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago and is Britain's oldest recorded town. Long stretches of surviving Roman town wall and the largest Norman Castle keep in Europe are just two of many features that make Colchester unique.
